TGS' on-premises IBM Controller system was outdated, unstable, and reliant on legacy infrastructure, posing risks to financial consolidation and reporting.
Migrating to IBM Controller Cloud with Intito ensured a modern, secure, and efficient financial consolidation solution.
The new cloud-based system offers improved stability, predictable costs, and seamless financial closings with 99.98% uptime, backed by dedicated support.
I just sat back, read the email updates, and observed the project’s progress. It’s rare to see projects run this seamlessly.
Johannes Hauge, IT Director at TGS
For years, TGS relied on an on-premises IBM Controller system running on an outdated SQL 2008 database. The aging infrastructure led to system instability, increasing the likelihood of downtime due to old servers and legacy software. Additionally, the departure of the company’s former IT manager left TGS without key internal expertise, making it difficult to maintain and troubleshoot the system. Compatibility issues with modern software further exacerbated the problem, limiting support options and scalability.
Recognizing these risks, IT Director Johannes Hauge sought a solution that would modernize TGS’ consolidation process while ensuring a smooth transition.
After evaluating their options, TGS partnered with Intito to migrate IBM Controller from on-premises infrastructure to the IBM Cloud. Drawing from extensive experience in cloud migrations, Intito implemented a structured approach to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency:
The migration was completed with exceptional efficiency, exceeding expectations. Johannes Hauge described the process as remarkably smooth:
“I just sat back, read the email updates, and observed the project’s progress. It’s rare to see projects run this seamlessly.”
With the IBM Controller Cloud solution in place, TGS has successfully completed multiple financial closings, including year-end reporting, without disruption. Their auditor has also reviewed the system and found no issues related to security or execution.
Despite initial concerns about downtime and workflow disruptions, the transition proved to be nearly seamless. With minimal involvement from internal teams, the project was executed exactly as planned.
“This was an incredibly well-executed project that went exactly as we had hoped,” says a satisfied Johannes Hauge.
By embracing IBM Controller Cloud, TGS has future-proofed its consolidation and reporting processes, reinforcing its commitment to efficiency and innovation in financial management.
