AI assistant & model guidance
Configure the provider, explain your model and review proposed PowerPoint report actions.
Configure AI
- Connect to the correct TM1 model
Open Quick actions → AI assistant from the taskpane.
- Open Settings
Select OpenAI, Anthropic or Microsoft 365 Copilot (preview), then a model. For API providers, enter the appropriate key and choose Save settings. Copilot needs the organization's configured access and Microsoft 365 sign-in.
- Check availability
Provider access, model availability and usage charges depend on your organization's account. Use approved providers for your reporting data.
Give the assistant model knowledge
Open Model documentation. Authors can maintain Business context, terminology and Reporting guidance, then choose Save guidance. Explain which cubes and measures to use, fiscal-period conventions, business terms, preferred comparisons and report structure. This guidance is shared through the connected TM1 model.
After configuring a provider, use Inspect model to build reporting documentation from accessible model metadata. Review the generated interpretation, cube descriptions and uncertainties. Correct the guidance and inspect again when the model changes; a successful inspection is not proof that every business meaning was inferred correctly.
Create or refine a PowerPoint report
- Describe the result
For example: “Create a revenue overview for Sweden, with a monthly trend, an actual-versus-budget table and commentary.” Include the company, period, currency and required comparisons.
- Send and clarify
Click Send. Answer follow-up questions in the same conversation. The assistant may propose actions or ask for more information.
- Review the proposed actions
Check the source objects, filters, new slides, chart types and placement. Sending a prompt does not apply the proposed report changes.
- Run actions
Choose Run actions when the proposal is ready. Review the completion messages and the resulting slides. Some earlier actions may have completed if a later one fails.
Depending on the request and permissions, actions can reuse library objects, create MDX-based content, change chart types, or add text and commentary. Check the finished report against known source values. New chat clears the conversation; reopening the dialog starts a fresh conversation too.
PowerPoint and Word
Slide generation and Run actions are PowerPoint features. Word provides the shared model-documentation and provider-settings controls; it does not generate PowerPoint slides.
Data sent to AI
AI requests go to the configured provider and can include prompts, model metadata, report context and data needed by the requested operation. AI workflows are an exception to the ordinary local chart-rendering path. Review your organization's provider and data-handling requirements before use. Keep passwords and session tokens out of prompts.
