Excel objects
Reuse objects from a workbook published in Planning Analytics Applications.
For authors · The workbook must be prepared and accessible in Applications.
Create an Excel object definition
- Choose Excel → Add
Enter a name and description for the object.
- Browse for the workbook
Use the Applications workbook browser. This workflow uses a published workbook, not an arbitrary local Excel file.
- Choose the workbook object
Choose an object from the discovered ADM ranges/objects.
- Configure Dimensions
Choose which discovered SUBNM title selections should follow report filters. Keep other selections fixed as needed.
- Save and insert
Save the definition, insert it from the Excel library and compare it with the workbook in Planning Analytics.
Prepare the workbook first
Ask the workbook author to publish the workbook and prepare the ADM objects to expose. Intito Agentic Disclosure Management (ADM) can only list objects it discovers in that workbook. The saved object’s type determines how it is resolved and inserted.
Update workbook content
Change the applicable report filters, then click Update. Some workbook content needs a separate web sign-in or rendering step. Complete any sign-in prompt and allow the operation to finish.
Excel object or cube-view chart?
Use an Excel object for content prepared in a workbook. For a chart directly from a cube view, use Tables / Charts → Settings → Display as; that chart path does not require Excel rendering.
