Build reports

Add tables, charts, cells and Excel objects, then assemble your report.

Start with an object

An Intito Agentic Disclosure Management (ADM) report is built from objects. First save an object definition that describes its source, filters and appearance. Then insert that object into your presentation or document. You can reuse the same definition in other reports.

Choose what to add

  • A table of cube data
Where to start: Tables / Charts → Add
What you define: A cube, saved view, context dimensions and member labels.
  • A chart or KPI card
Where to start: Tables / Charts → Add
What you define: A cube view and a chart type under Settings → Display as.
  • A single value or narrative
Where to start: Cells → Add
What you define: A cube intersection, report filters and value format.
  • Content from a published workbook
Where to start: Excel → Add
What you define: A workbook, a discovered ADM object and its title/filter selections.

Add a table

  1. Choose Tables / Charts → Add

Enter a meaningful name and description, for example Monthly revenue by region.

  2. Choose Cube and View

Select the cube and the saved view containing the rows and columns you need. Prepare that layout in Planning Analytics first.

  3. Set Dimensions and labels

Choose context members. Use the member selector's Filter checkbox for dimensions that should follow report filters. Under Settings → Row / Column Labels, choose readable member attributes.

  4. Save and insert

Leave Display as on Table, then Save. Find the definition in the library and click Insert.

See Tables & cube views for source layout and editing details.

Add a chart or card

  1. Choose Tables / Charts → Add

Charts are view definitions, so start under Tables / Charts. Enter the name, select the cube and choose a view arranged for your chart.

  2. Choose the display type

Under Settings → Display as, select Pie, Line, Bar, Waterfall or Card. Pie is displayed as a donut.

  3. Set the appearance

Choose member label attributes and Text color. Adjust the chart color swatches where available. For Bar, Horizontal and Vs target select the variant.

  4. Save and insert

Save the definition and click Insert beside it in the Tables / Charts library. Resize the result in Office; use the definition settings to change its chart appearance.

  • Line or standard Bar: Rows are categories; columns are series.
  • Bar with Vs target: First column is actual, second is target. Each row needs both numeric values.
  • Pie / donut: Rows are slices; only the first data column is used.
  • Waterfall: First row only: opening total, signed deltas, closing total across columns.
  • Card: First row only: headline in column one, optional comparisons in columns two and three.

The chart library includes visual examples and the complete data-layout rules.

Add a cell or narrative

  1. Choose Cells → Add

Enter the name and select the source cube.

  2. Choose the intersection

Select one member for each dimension. Mark dimensions that should follow report filters using the Filter checkbox.

  3. Choose formatting

Select General, Text, Number, Percentage or Currency and adjust the available formatting options.

  4. Save and insert

Save the definition, then Insert it from the Cells library. Use Office text formatting to place the value or narrative in your report.

See Cells & writeback for narrative formatting and the optional Editable workflow.

Add an Excel object

  1. Choose Excel → Add

    Enter a name and description.

  2. Select a published workbook

Browse Planning Analytics Applications to locate the workbook.

  3. Choose the discovered object

Select one of the workbook's discovered ADM objects. Configure the available SUBNM title selections under Dimensions, marking those that should follow report filters.

  4. Save and insert

Save the definition and click Insert beside it in the Excel library. Check the result against the workbook in Planning Analytics.

This workflow uses a prepared, published workbook rather than an arbitrary local Excel file. See Excel objects for preparation and troubleshooting.

Insert an existing object

You do not need to create a new definition if one already exists. Choose Tables / Charts, Cells or Excel, use Search objects, then click Insert beside the required object. Readers can use this workflow without author access. Chart definitions are listed under Tables / Charts.

Assemble and check the report

  1. Choose the destination

In PowerPoint, select the destination slide before insertion. In Word, place the cursor where the object belongs, outside any existing ADM object.

  2. Arrange the content

Move and resize objects in Office. Format native tables and text with Office tools. Keep Word's ADM content boundaries intact.

  3. Set filters and Update

Choose the reporting context in Filters, then click Update. Compare a known value with the source and check any errors.

  4. Save your report

Save the presentation or document so its ADM connections travel with it. Repeat these steps to add the remaining report objects.

Continue with Filters & Update to understand fixed members, shared context and refreshing.
